Innovative Technological Solutions for Energy Communities

STEAM is pleased to announce the award of the Cascade Call for Tender of the University of Calabria approved by D.R.199/2024 of 06/03/2024. The goal of the project is to assess the geothermal potential of the pilot area focused on the Sibari Plain, which involves six municipalities. The project focuses on the evaluation of low-enthalpy geothermal systems (open and closed loop) for heating and cooling and, in particular, the following activities: - Collection of the geological, thermal and geochemical data for the implementation of a specific database - Sampling underground freshwater to evaluate geochemical characteristics for open loop geothermal systems exploitation. - Reconstruction of a 3D thermal model of the Pilot Area - Reconstruction of distribution maps showing the variability of thermal properties, geochemical characteristics and impacts expected from the exploitation of geothermal systems The project is funded by the European Union NextGeneration EU, under the project “Tech4You - Technologies for climate change adaptation and quality of life improvement”.
